Alpine Canada Alpin
Husky Energy has been involved in Canadian skiing since the 1980s. From the beginnings of the Canadian Women's Alpine ski team; to the tens of thousands of children enrolled in the Nancy Greene Ski League; to our Champion sponsorship with Alpine Canada Alpin; and sponsorship of the 2008 Lake Louise Winterstart World Cup.
In the past few years and in partnership with ACA, Husky has developed a grassroots skill development program called the Husky Snow Stars program. It is a seven-stage skill development program for young skiers between the ages of five and 16 years old. This program, which is promoted by Alpine Canada Alpin, the Canadian Ski Coaches'
Federation and the Provincial Ski Associations, guides children, coaches, and parents through a progression of skills aligned with the Long Term Athlete Development Plan (AIM 2 WIN).
Each ski season, Husky Snow Stars Festivals are held across the nation to celebrate the development of young Canadian skiers. Between 100 and 350 Canadian Alpine Ski Team Athletes and Alumni make appearances to sign autographs and help out with the events.
Check back often for future 2008 Husky Snow Stars Festival dates and locations.
