Husky's DieselMax is compliant with Environment Canada's Sulphur in Diesel regulation, which restricts the sulphur content of on-road diesel fuel to less than 15 parts per million (ppm). All on-road diesel-fuelled vehicles manufactured in 2007 and beyond must use Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel and the same regulations will subsequently be phased in for passenger vehicles and light-duty vehicles. New diesel-fuelled vehicles will be equipped with advanced emission control systems that could be damaged by Regular Sulphur Diesel (also called "regular diesel", that contains up to 500 ppm sulphur). Added performance

The additive package in DieselMax is formulated to get the best performance from Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel for both new and older vehicles. The combination of next-generation detergent, dispersant and anti-fouling additives in DieselMax keeps new engines from building up deposits and cleans out deposit build-up in older engines.

DieselMax's formula contains:

A superior detergent to reduce fuel system deposits that lead to power loss.
A cetane improver that increases the cetane number of the base fuel cetane by one to three numbers (similar to octane levels in gasoline), helping with cold starts in Canada's winters.
A lubricity additive that improves Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel lubrication properties, helping to reduce wear on fuel pumps.
Improved control of corrosive combustion products for longer engine life.

Cleaner engines and fuel economy

Compared with regular diesel, tests have shown that DieselMax's advanced formulation keeps new engines running like new with no power loss, and reduces power loss in older engines. In field testing, heavy duty trucks using the DieselMax additive package improved fuel economy by 1.8 to 3 per cent over 24,000 kilometres of operation.
