This is a statement of the privacy practices of Husky Retail (Retail) operations of Husky Canadian Petroleum Marketing Partnership, by its managing partner Cenovus Energy Inc. (collectively the “Company”, “we”, “us”).

This Privacy Statement outlines how and why we collect, use, share, and protect the personal information collected from you via the Company’s websites and in the course of its retail operations (collectively “Services”). By using these Services and providing your personal information, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions outlined here.

This Privacy Statement is meant to supplement and be read in conjunction with our Privacy Policy.

How we collect and use personal information

The Company collects and processes personal information from and/or about individuals when necessary to conduct business activities, or to respond to individuals who request information about our products or Services.

In addition to the collection and use set out in the Privacy Policy, personal information is collected and may be used for purposes such as:

  • Managing customer relationships, including updating contact information, and communicating with customers through various communication channels.
  • Processing transactions.
  • Administering the myHusky Rewards program.
  • Understanding shopping preferences and information needs, and offering customers relevant information, products, services and rewards to meet those needs and interests.
  • Tracking use of our Services through cookies, third-party analytics and other tracking mechanisms.
  • Providing customers with ongoing Services relating to Husky products.
  • Administering contests.
  • Preventing and detecting crimes, investigating incidents, accidents, and claims or complaints.

Our websites contain links to third-party websites, which if you click on them may collect personal information about you. The information practices of those third-party websites are not covered by this Privacy Statement or our Privacy Policy.

How long we keep your personal information

We keep your personal information for only as long as it is required for the purposes for which it was collected, or as otherwise permitted by applicable law, including for the purpose of enabling us to meet any legal or regulatory requirements. Cenovus has retention standards for information and records which set out these timelines. We have retention policies in place that govern the destruction of personal information.

How we share your personal information

We may share your personal information with our affiliates and third-party service providers. These may include subcontractors or third parties that process transactions or manage a program on our behalf, including technology systems and marketing, or providing support for Cenovus products and Services. We may also share with or disclose your personal information to third parties for other purposes as permitted by law, when required by law, court or government agency and in the event of a business transaction, including a change of ownership of all or part of Cenovus through an asset or sale share, or some other form of business combination, merger or joint venture.

We may share aggregate information with trading partners, co-branded locations, participating sponsors and advertisers. However, this aggregated information does not contain personal information.

Please note that your personal information may be shared with, used, processed and stored by our affiliates and other third-party vendors and service providers located in jurisdictions including but not limited to Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and Malaysia. Personal information may be subject to disclosure to government authorities in certain circumstances in accordance with the laws of these jurisdictions.

Security of personal information

The Company is committed to safeguarding your personal information. We maintain physical, procedural and technical security with respect to information storage to prevent any loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, or modification of your personal information.

We store your information in electronic databases, systems or applications hosted by us or our third-party vendors and service providers for periods of time and with safeguards that we believe are reasonable depending on the nature and sensitivity of the information. Access to the information is governed by our contractual agreements with the vendors and service providers who agree to protect your personal information and use it solely for the purposes set forth by Cenovus.

In cases where your consent was obtained, you may withdraw (subject to legal and contractual requirements) your consent to our further collection, use and disclosure of your personal information.
